The "Nutrition and Metabolism Journal: Clinical and Experimental" (ISSN 3085-5888) is a scientific publication dedicated to promoting the dissemination of innovative and high-quality research in the field of nutrition and metabolism.
The journal is published in a continuous flow, with the article published shortly after it has been evaluated and approved, meaning there is no need to wait for the journal to launch an edition before the article is published.

When submitting a new manuscript, authors must explain any conflict of interest through the system and this information must appear in the manuscript.

Assessment steps:
a) Pre-analysis: Initially, the article is received by the technical team, which verifies its compliance with the journal's standards. Afterwards, the manuscript will be assessed by the members of the Editorial Committee, who will verify its suitability for the journal's general criteria and editorial policy. Articles that: a) constitute a bibliographic review will be rejected at this stage; excerpt from a dissertation, thesis, project or research report without proper adaptation; b) are excessively descriptive and not very analytical; c) do not present a significant contribution to the area of knowledge; d) do not follow the magazine's publication rules. Articles rejected at this stage will be archived and those approved will proceed to the next stage.
b) Peer review: Articles will be evaluated by at least two experts in the thematic area among the ad hoc consultants registered as members of the journal's Scientific Committee/Evaluators, belonging to different Brazilian institutions and those from other countries. The evaluation is double-blind, in which the identity of both the reviewer and the author is hidden from both parties, and the opinions may or may not be published alongside the article (see item 6.3 Openings in peer review and identification of the associated editor ).
The reviewers will evaluate the article taking into account the following evaluation guidelines: clarity of writing, fluidity of reading; compatibility with a scientific document; currentity and adequacy of the theoretical-conceptual basis; clarity and alignment of the object of study with the focus and scope of the journal; objectives clearly explained and aligned in the summary, introduction and conclusion; methodological path well explained and appropriate to the purposes of the article; good presentation and discussion of results, dialoguing with the theoretical-conceptual basis; concise conclusions compatible with the methodology used and the results of the work; originality and contribution of the article to the area of knowledge.
After issuing his descriptive opinion and inserting it on the journal page, the editor must select one of the following recommendation possibilities:
- Accept
- Mandatory Corrections;
- Resubmit for review
- Submit to another journal
- Reject
c) Editorial Decision: Authors will be notified by the Journal's Editors about the acceptance or rejection of their texts based on the opinions received. Any suggestions for changes to the structure and/or content that may be necessary will be notified to the author(s), who will be responsible for making them.
The Editors of the Journal reserve the right to suggest to the author changes in form, in order to adapt the contributions to the editorial and graphic standards of the journal.
