Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Original articles
Articles with the aim of disseminating original and unpublished research results that can be replicated and/or generalized.
Review articles
Studies with the aim of being evaluative, critical and systematized, presenting results of original and recent research. Its purpose is to stimulate discussion and introduce debate on relevant and innovative aspects. To do this, authors must explain the review method used, detail the thorough search process and explain the criteria used for the selection and classification of included primary studies. It is essential that these articles are supported by standards of scientific excellence and answer questions relevant to the areas of health. Among the review methods that can be published, the following stand out: Systematic review with or without meta-analysis, integrative or scope review. Submissions of narrative literature reviews will not be accepted.

Authors who publish in the "Nutrition and Metabolism Journal: Clinical and Experimental" agree to the following terms:
a) The submission of original scientific work(s) by the authors, as holders of the copyright of the text(s) sent to the journal, under the terms of Law 9,610/98 , implies the transfer of copyright for publication in the "Nutrition and Metabolism Journal: Clinical and Experimental" of the article(s) accepted for publication to Ascend Soluções Inteligentes Ltda, further authorizing that the work(s) approved scientific journal(s) be disseminated free of charge, without any type of compensation in terms of copyright, through the journal's website and its indexing databases and repositories, for purposes reading, printing and/or downloading the text file, from the date of acceptance for publication purposes. This means that, when submitting the article(s) to the "Nutrition and Metabolism Journal: Clinical and Experimental" and, consequently, the free transfer of copyright related to the scientific work sent, the authors are fully aware that they will not be remunerated for the publication of the article(s) in the journal.
b) Authors maintain copyright and grant the magazine the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows sharing of the work with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this magazine.
c) Authors are authorized to enter into additional contracts separately, for non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in this journal (e.g., publishing in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with recognition of authorship and initial publication in this journal.
d) Authors are permitted and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal page) at any point before or during the editorial process, as this can generate productive changes as well as increase impact and the citation of the published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
